Im almost in a club, and I'v been searching for "The One" for the past 6 months. Just recently, a buddy from work made a few suggestions, 1)CZ Shadow 2, 2)SIG P320, 3)S&W M&P 9mm 2.0, and 4)Tanfoglio (wasn't sure on what model yet). So at first i was originally looking just a S&W M&P 9mm(not the rang kit one, figured i could save the extra money and buy what i really need in the end) but then the CZ was thrown in the mix. Now I wasn't crazy about the prize right off the bat, but after a few debates and fondling one in my local shop, it felt amazing in my hand and crunching the numbers i could own it. The SIG was a comparison to the Tanfoglio in price and quality, either or it didn't matter. S&W 2.0 was just a step up from my original idea of the first one, but now I have found a VTAC 9mm used in VG for $479, but in the description its not stated as a VTAC but in the picture with the tag it states that it is(haven't seen it in person yet). So here i am, and i decided i should hold off on the CZ( due to recent unemployment), the SIG and Tanfoglio have lost there appeal. Now its down to the 2.0 and the VTAC, but I'm not really sure on what the technicals are between them so i was hoping some one could shine some light on the subject. Please don't try and sell me on anything else.

I have no experience with the VTAC, but I couldn't stand the controls on the M&P, so I went with the SIG P250... Essentially an earlier model P320, and got mine for half the price of the P320...

If its between the VTAC and the M&P 2.0, I would go with the 2.0. I wasn't sold on it but I was shooting one the other day and it's definitely a step up. I'll probably trade my M&P40C whenever they come out with the 2.0 version or just buy a second one.

If it was between an M&P and a CZ, I would choose CZ any day for a range gun. Hands down my favorite pistol for target shooting.

For carry and self defense nothing beats a polymer framed striker fired pistol.

You won't regret getting a CZ Shadow 2. Even if you don't like it. You can always sell it for a decent price....meaning you won't lose that much. But you will probably like and keep it.

If recent unemployment is a factor, I’d probably prioritize and realize that a pistol is useless if you can’t afford to feed it. Spruce up your resume, kick some ass in every interview you do, and save up for the ONE. Whatever it ends up being.

Also, go with the shadow ; )

i shot my cousins M&P 2.0 today for the first time, i have the older original from when they first came out, and i have to say i was really impressed with it. brand new out of the box, the trigger was pretty good, i liked the slide serrations, and most of all the new stippled grips. that said, i do like the CZ also, but i dislike the controls on them, and especially the thinner slide to grab onto when your running and gunning and you need to clear a jam or something. id get the M&P.

my advice is buy the CZ Shadow 2 or any of the other good guns on your list (I only consider 1 and 4 from your list as good guns ;) ). Don't look at the price as a bad thing.

the amount of money you will spend on ammo will be way more :)

so shoot a bit less a real nice quality gun and will end up the same $$$ at the end.

If you don't get a .22 for your first gun, you will buy one for your second gun.
And then promptly sell it. Buy a used .22 for sure. You won't lose much on the flip that way.
I'd go cz as well. They did a great job of making them fit most hands well. M&p is comfortable too, but not in the same weight class on all accounts.

M&P 9 and P320 are more combat/tactical, I find them both have a heavier trigger for my newb finger comparing to other striker fired.

Shadow 2 is awesome if price is not a concerned.

I know the CZ Shadow is a little pricier than the M&P but well worth it. Mine shoots like a dream. You can save money by getting the original SP-01 Shadow instead of the Shadow 2. Spend the difference on ammo. You wont regret it.

You give Grand Power K100 a chance? I picked up one for 470 shipped with 3 mags, and only 300rds thru it. Its a great pistol, excellent trigger in both SA and DA. Smooth recoiling, Ambi controls.
