First Pistol Purchase

Hi all,

I'm just waiting on my restricted to come in the mail and I'm trying to decide on which plinker would be my best plinker for out at the range. I've looked at both the P22 and 22/45 (with 4.5" fluted barrell). Any recommendations, thoughts or comments?

A number of posts here have mentioned significant problems with the P22. Between the two you mention I'd definitely pick the Ruger. Congrats on the RPAL!

If your talking about the Walther P22, I have one... and the only thing I have to say about it is the stock grip is too small for my hand. Other than that, its a fine gun.

+ 1 on the Ruger III or III 2245. Great little ugly plinker. The good thing about them is never heard any crack flame or slide happened. Great shooter.

+1 for ruger. Take a look at the top of the line models. Hunter ss or the competition target. They are all good. You can feed them with almost any chep ammo. Everybody should start with a ruger.
