Made my first purchase today since receiving my RPAL.

First choice went to MKIII, looking forward to getting to the range soon

..... and so it begins.... the bang isn't big enough.... so you buy a 9mm...... bigger bang than 22..... but still not big enough.... so you buy a 45acp..... very nice bang, but its like an addict looking for his next fix..... need a bigger bang.... so you buy a 357 magnum..... and so on, and so on, and then the bank calls cuz you've remortgaged your home 3 times already and they say you need to seek help.... so you buy a bigger gun....... Laugh2

Oh, and congrats!

Solid choice. Shoot it lots and when you're done shoot it some more. I regret selling my MKiii's when I graduated to centerfires.
Around here you need to post pics...or it didn't happen.

Which Mark III did you get. I love mine. It was also my first. I have fiber optic sights on order.

I was referring to the op's choice for the Ruger Mklll pistol.

I was just wondering why you like it. It's nice to hear other peoples stories about them. I think it was a lot of peoples first gun. The one in the picture was the first handgun I bought for myself. The first handgun I ever shot was the one my father taught me with, a Ruger Standard, the first in the line. Then he traded it for a Mark II when they came out, so the Mark III seemed a logical choice for me. Was it your first gun also?

Actually my first pistol was a Beretta 92fs in stainless.I always liked the look of them.I purchased my second Marklll several month's ago it is the 22/45 RP model in stainless with a 5.5in slab side barrel.I had the seller install a high-vis f/o front sight.I have shot 400 rnds so far without a single hiccup useing cheap Federal bulk pack.It is extremely accurate as well.I find the 22/45 version very easy to take down, but I find you can shoot it a lot and simply use a bore snake and lightly lube in around the action to keep it running smoothly..

I would consider another 22/45 but the RP (replaceable panel) model with a 4.5" Slab Side barrel. However, I'm pretty sure they aren't available in this config....
