Hello everyone!
Just thought I would share my first purchases since getting my licence(which surprisingly only took 33 days since filing)! So I went to Al's and purchased the Mossberg 715T Flat Top. I was initially looking for a Ruger 10/22 but noticed it is near impossible.

So a friend found one and I headed over to Barry to meet the guy. The gun is in pristine condition with only about a 100 rounds fired according the owner. I could not give the deal up! It is a Ruger 10/22 DSP

Here are the pics! Also I have not fired them yet. Should I clean them in anyway? any suggestions

Definitely clean them. Used guns, you never know what kind of abuse the previous owner may have inflicted upon them. And new guns are inevitably shipped with grease and other miscellaneous crap in them. It also can't hurt to make sure you know how to dismantle and clean them just in case you have issues during your first use.

You will enjoy both, I have no doubt!

Congrats on your first(s) :)

I'd clean them. Every gun I've bought I've stripped, cleaned, and oiled before I take them out.
My 715t likes to be wet, I even oil the mags. I've had more than my share of problems with it, but if it's wet, it's good.
I recently gave my 10/22 away to get a new shooter shooting. It was an awesome first rifle for me, I put over 30000 rounds through mine and it always went bang. It liked running dry.

Be careful on the Mossberg not to strip the threads in the plastic stock.

Enjoy the new hobby and be safe.

Thank you all for the advice! I will most likely be joining Silverdale next week, so will definitely do a breakdown of the guns and get them oiled up inside!
