well, it probably will not blow your face off . . . .
some tips:
they don't come sighted in, so google some instructions on adjusting m14 sights and be prepared to spend the time setting your sights up. be prepared to do both the front and rear sights, tool-wise. my sights were off the paper at 100.
do not 'ride the bolt forward' -- pull it back and let it fly
when starting out, load and shoot 1 round from the mag, then 2 rounds from the mag as a function check. capture and examine the cases ejected for weirdness (odd bulging, primer flow, etc.). cases should look a lot like unfired cases save the primer strike mark. maybe do that twice to be sure, then load mags and have fun.
bring tools (screwdriver, supplied multi-tool, allen key set, etc.) in case something loosens on 1st use. then you can tighten up at the range.
bring lots of ammo. lots and lots. really more than you think you need.
be prepared to have fun!
