I like krylon. I have done 2 paint ball guns and a few helmets. I always use krylon matt clear coat hardener after wards. Makes a tuff surface after wards, without it being too shiny. I have painted 2 rifle stocks with that combo and they hold up well. I haven't tried any metal on my rifles though. So I would be interested to see how well it holds up.

I always make tigerstripe patters. Its easy to do and looks deadly. Just use green painters tape and tear it in stripes and apply it to the gun. Do long tears and little tears and whatever. It comes out different every time. Do your next color and then use the ripped tape again and then add a 3rd color. Whatever your last color is will be the dominant color. Then peel all the tape and then clear coat.

I wish I had some pics of stuff I did, but they are not handy right now, sorry.

Awesome cats again btw.

Sorry but IMO think the stock looked better before they paint job. The Krylon probably won't last on the metal before it start flaking and chipping, on the stock would probably last a little longer. Little to monotone for my taste.

Looks great.

I painted my other rifle with Krylon.

My main complaint is that it chips very easily as it is very flaky so small divot will open up a larger chip.

But a benefit is that you can easily give it a quick respray over the affected area.

Duracoat is extremely tough and doesn't chip in the same way, but you have to do a big setup to do a spray. compressor, gun, mix paint, etc etc.

Can't wait to see what kind of camo you are putting on.

Ummm..... You removed the protective finish and sprayed it with Krylon?

If I were you I'd send the metal bits out to get parkerized first and then paint it afterwards.

Personally I like the before photos but it's your rifle.

I had the reciever masked off, I didnt paint it.

....sigh....This is the first time doing camo graffix, and it is harder than I thought, this is where Iam at right now....I think it looks kinda...well.....*ucked.

I dunno, maby Ill get thig thing Bead Blasted, and get it done profesionaly.....
