I got my Lee 50th anniversary kit
i will start reloading 9mm Para in the next few days

i just have a few questions
in the relaoding manual there are different types of powder. which one do i buy?
and
do i need a crimping die?

Are you considering reloading any other cartridges? If so, I would choose a versatile powder that you can use in all your applications. When I started, I tried out many different powders and bought more of those that performed best. In 9mm, you can't go wrong with Blue Dot, Titegroup, Universal, or W231 (which I personally haven't used).

You don't absolutely need a crimping die (I supposed you're talking about Lee's Factory Crimp Die). The bullet seating die can crimp the belled mouth back into shape. But the FCD is a great tool that'll probably prove useful in the future. Have you bought a die set for the 9mm yet? Definitely go for the 4-piece Lee carbide dies, the fourth is the FCD.

Get the FCD (it applies the crimp after seating) its well worth the money. I load using only 231 and like the results.

I would agree with the choice of W231 as a powder. There are other good ones but W231 will work in just about any other pistol load so you won't regret it. Plus it is a ball powder and it flows very evenly.

Good luck & don't forget to read the reloading manual.

if i don;t have a tumbler is there another way to clean the brass?
and if i get a tumbler i put the brass in before depriming right?
