First reloads! And a silly lesson learned

Measure twice, cut once. Been there.

Make sure you like your calipers, you will be using them a lot.

When you make ammo yourself, you are your only quality control department.

Not only is there the ever present safety concern, but any doubt created by your bench technique will translate into doubt when interpreting the results on paper.

Having to pull bullets is the best way to learn to remember something; with me I kept reading the 1/10 grain measure on the balance scale as the 1 grain measure so instead of 41 grains was actually measuring 40.1 grains. Not a huge variation, but as a nervous new reloaded they all came apart to be reweighed. You learn quick, especially when your inertia bullet puller breaks half way through. arrrrrrgh!

Besides the risks from forgetting which powder is in your powder measure... some powders can etch the plastics making them foggy instead of transparent... so I just always empty my powder measure no matter what.
But FYI, reloading will not save you any money like everyone always thinks when they get into it... reloading will cost you more because you'll shoot more and acquire more and it won't end lol

I save a lot of money by reloading. I couldn't even afford to shoot some of my older guns if I had to buy ammo - assuming I could even find factory ammo for all of them, which isn't the case.

Yes, you can save money from reloading... if you have willpower. I lack willpower to save money on shooting lol. I just shoot more!

I do save money reloading obscure old calibers. I can load 455 webley for under $15/50 or buy it for $70/50 plus tax and shipping. But I probably wouldn't own all those obscure old guns if I didn't reload...

Did I save money because I started reloading 40 years ago? My wife thinks I save money reloading and that's all that matters.

I'll save money when I'm dead. :)
