First Restricted - Glock 21 vs. Norc 1911

It's not a "slide thingy" it's called a slide stop.

And it's called a slide stop for a reason.... ;) :p

If money is an issue then I'd for sure go with 9mm as opposed to .45 and I'd also go with glock solely based on reliability. You don't wanna dish out extra cash on a gun repair. I bought my first gun about a month ago (glock 17) and could not be happier with it.

I wouldn't mind a compact glock in .45 (model 30) but between a the two I'd get a 1911. look for SF model if you deside to go Glock rote.

When I think .45, I think 1911. So I got an Armco Norc and love it. Always liked Glocks too, but I think of 9mm when I think of newer, higher tech pistols. So for a 9mm I got a SR9, one of the newest pitols on the market. Its great too.

He said he was going to be reloading, so the cost of ammo is not really a factor. I went with a double stacked 10 round NP-30. When mag capacity and ammo cost are none factors, the .45ACP seams like a no brainer.

Those Glock 21 10rd mags are horrible... had a guy on a pistol course and his mag wouldn't seat properly with the slide forward. ##### to load as well.

i never had a problem loading the mags - except the first time i ever tried it back in march when it was still kinda cold outside. other than that, really not difficult. by hand. i've never used those loader things.

1. The 1911 was designed for the .45ACP from the onset.

The Glock was a 9mm design upgraded to .45

2. The Norinco frame and slide are forged from a higher grade of steel than most if not all the other 1911 makes/models. They should last you for a very long time. If you need replacement or customizing parts, you can find them anywhere for reasonable prices.

3. A tuned 1911 of any make is a joy to shoot.

4. A Norkie Sport or Police will come with all the basic requirements/accessories for a nice range gun. Shooting it a couple thousand rounds will result in a smooth pistol and decent trigger.

These reasons are enough for me to go with the Norkie 1911.
