It's approaching three weeks since I made my first restricted purchase.

Occasionally, I check my registration application status online at the CFP website. It just says "No registration applications were found."

Should I be concerned at all? I realize it can take time, but the fact that they don't even appear to have an application in progress makes me wonder. Shouldn't there at least be an application? Or is it normal for them to just say there's no application in progress until it is actually completed.

This was a purchase at a retail store. I already have LTATT. Store said it usually takes a week.

Just wait. About 28-32 days after I sent mine in it displayed "in progress" and it stated the date of receipt (which was the date I thout they would have received them).

It doesn't stop you from checking 5 times a day though :)

If it's been 3 weeks call the CFC and they can make sure the application is in progress as it should be, maybe even help get it completed. I've seen things sit in limbo because some piece of info was missing and nobody was notified.

Where can you check the status online? I know where you can check for your PAL/RPAL online but can you also do it online for restricted registrations and transfers?

The same website where you can check your license application status has another link to check registration application status. There's also a link to register a firearm. You can also change your address. At least that's what I get when I log in.

I was wondering the same thing. I bought my first restricted online...it has already been shipped to me and I have it in my possession. However I have not received the registration papers for it and the CFP website just says "No registration applications were found." I have to assume the transfer was processed and approved because the firearm is sitting in my safe  Like everything to do with RPAL's, LTATT's and transfers/registration...it's clear as mud.

All I know at this point is I have a restricted firearm and no registration papers....so I can't take the damn thing to the range..or anywhere for that matter. I really hope the registration is in the mail...why it wouldn't have arrived before the firearm is beyond me.

So, I just called the CFO's office and they said the transfer was approved and notification was sent to the store on Oct 16th, before I even wrote this thread.

Then I called the store, and they had not received anything from the CFO. I gave them the reference number that was provided by the CFO, and now they're going to work it out.

So really, it only took about 10 days to approve my transfer, but I patiently waited an extra couple weeks, when it really took a phonecall to work it out. Had I done nothing, this would have dragged on forever. The CFO thought they were done with it, and the store hadn't received anything. It was in limbo.

Moral of the story: Don't be afraid to call.
