Finally got everything done and picked up my revolver that belonged to my grand father. He had it in the military and I was wondering if anybody knew any history on it. I think it is a pretty common service gun but I'd just like to know a bit more about it. It's 38 S&W so the ammo is really hard to find. I'm thinking that the RAF could stand for Royal Air Force?

Nice! I'm tempted to try an Enfield. I think my Webley is simply worn out.

Is that painted or Parked?

Learn to reload for your .38 S&W. It's better ammo than factory, costs less, and is a rewarding hobby of it's own. Check out the reloading forum sometime.

Already looking into it Steve. A guy at work reloads his ammo so I'll get him to show me. Try to get a setup of my own.

Yes, the R.A.F. stamping could mean it was an RAF gun. And your grandfather had it while he was in the military, was his service in the RAF?
