Ok. a very close friend's father that I have known for quite some time has offered to sell me a Lee-Enfield (.303 British?).
He told me that his dad is willing to give it too me for quite a lot less than it is worth. It also has sentimental value because it was given to his other (now vegan) son on his first hunt.
I Have no idea yet if it is a No.1 Mk.3 or No.4 Mk.1. My friend thinks it can be either.
My question is... What would be a close estimated value for this or both models (they are in good condition).
I really want to make sure I get something appropriate for him as this does mean a lot to me.
I have a few ideas but I am new to the sport. Any suggestions?

well run of the mill sporter in good condition $75-$100

but I have bought them for as little as $25 without the magazine, and my latest buy was a longbranch No4 sporter with the magazine for $45 but that was a steal of a deal.

But if its a good comercial sporter (Parker Hale, BSA Co comercial, or even Churchill) it will be worth more. Perhaps it might be an EAL.

Pictures or better descriptions are needed to properly determine what its worth.
