Took me forever as I used the Dillon 550b as a single press...kinda
however I just finished reloading my first 50 9mm rounds to test out

Went with some Wolf 125GR plated round nose, Windchester 231, and the starting measure or 3.9 with a OAL of 1.125.

I'll let you know how the workout in the CZ Shadow, If all goes well guess Ill make a few hundred then move up a little with the powder measure or Try loading up some Hornady XTP 147 GR HP.

Also, just signed up for the Black Badge course and was wondering what your using for reloads in the production division in particular with 231 powder

Cheers
Brian

Well, out of the 50 I made all went great except 2 which I did not crimp enough.

I did find that I am more accurate with the factory windchester 115 gr though

With respect to the 2 failed rounds that you said did not have enough crimp, just remember that you crimp for the gun not the load.

I've told people this countless times. From my experience you make a dummy round (no powder or primer) and measure it. Cycle it through your gun and re-measure. If it has moved more than you comfortable with, then increase your crimp, make another dummy and repeat the process. This will ensure you have developed a load that is safe for the gun it is intended for.

I do this for every new bullet/caliber I load for. I almost do not put any crimp on my 45ACP for my S/W 4506, but for my Norc NP28 (9mm), it has a very steep feed ramp into the barrel and I need a fairly stout crimp to make sure it feeds the way i want it to.

Your definitively on the right track and you should be happy with yourself for even taking the leap and starting to reload. Keep it up, your 99% the way there with this round.

My $0.02.
