first run BCL102 FTE issues

It sucks that you are having problems. Is the bolt holding open with the last shot? if it is, I'd be looking more at the bolt and the ejector and ejector spring. If it is not holding open, then I'd be looking at the gas system the gas rings and chamber. Either way, Ryan at SFRC is the ####. I have no doubt he'll take care of you if you reach out to him.

Contacted SFRC and Ryan got back instantly and put me in contact with the right person.

now just waiting for an answer and whether or not they are actually going to fix and register this for me.

Has anyone noticed how short the gas tube is, compared to other DI black rifles? The gas tube normally sticks out a lot farther in the upper receiver and sits a lot further into the gas key.

I am curious if this has anything to do with some of the malfunctions in this rifle.

When I swapped my barrel to 6.5creedmoor they replaced it with a longer gas tube. All issues are gone. Keep in mind I also replaced the buffer tube, buffer, and buffer spring at the same time.

NOTE: Will be moving to an Armalite Rifle Gas Tube with the new Barrel.

The MH had issues with the cam pins being too long, and the dish in the upper not being deep enough. That would cause some issues, and you can see it in the 102 above where it is hitting the edge of the dish.

Yes exactly - noticed this with the OEM BCG upon disassembly after the first 50 rounds. Many have changed out the Cam Pin to the POF version. I just went with a new BCG :)

Of note - the AR15 in the picture has thousands upon thousands of rounds through it.

NAB became NEA which in turn became BCL (bought out) just like Blackwater became XE and then became Academi.

When you have the worst possible reputation in your field you tend to change names to try to shed that rep but in the end, you're always Blackwater.

I'll never get tired of people acting like it's super cool to have to send guns back because they are complete sh|t in these threads :)

NAB? Norincos Are Better?

LOL

Well, its round two for me to send my rifle back to NAB/NEA/BCL. I'm on the fence to what I will do with it once I get it back from them....

If the cam pin is gouging up your receiver the correct repair is to send the rifle in to have them fix the cutout the cam pin rides into and measure to see if the cam pin is in spec. Simply replacing the cam pin with a roller is a band-aid fix that is hiding the fact your receiver is built wrong. The roller pin will eventually fail because it's hitting a corner instead of gliding through like it should
The roller cam pin is to make a functional rifle run smoother not to make an out of spec rifle function.

If it still doesn't function when you get it back ask for the rifle to be replaced or ask for your money back. You should not have to spend a dime on parts just to have a functional rifle. You paid their full retail price for a brand new complete and functional rifle, not a fixer-upper project gun.

Unfortunately NEA/BCL have only changed names, they haven't actually done anything about correcting the issues that give them their bad reputation.
Funny how many people pre 102 would never consider buying an NEA AR but all of a sudden now that they have something that's non restricted everyone has forgotten why so many people hated NEA.

Funny/scary thing is that this company has an aerospace division, can you imagine trusting parts made by them being in something you're riding in that leaves the surface of the earth?

Maybe their next name can be CEIGE for close enough is good enough
Or how about MIS for mostly in spec

From what I understand (was told by a non-competing vendor), their 'aerospace division' doesn't/didn't actually make aerospace parts.

You sound like a broken record.. I think we got it the first 3 times.
