First shoot with Remington 700 Police .308 - 100 m

This is 300m shooting Remington 700 police .308 (my reloads) at Sharon...3 shoots 0.8 inch.
I found that 100m target work the best.

My advice - stop worrying about trying to cut your groups down. They are good enough.

The load you have shoots just fine. I would suggest that you practice shooting. Shoot off-hand. Dial in your comeups. Enjoy your rifle.

Nice looking groups guys. Great choice in a rifle.

Just last week I fired a .404" 5 shot 300m group out of mine while sighting in to go shoot at St. Charles long range. Its hanging on the fridge, best group I have fired yet at that distance. After those five shots, figured I was zeroed and ready to go! Unbelievable to see single hole groups at distance with multiple rounds!

Handloads:
175gr. SMK, 43.0gr. Varget, Win virgin brass, Fed 210M primer, 2.83" COL @ 2650fps.

Where is this "Sharon" range you're mentioning? I've googled the name and found nothing. I'm interested in getting into longer range rifles myself.

Look for "Sharon Gun Club". It is about an hour north of Toronto area (just a bit east of Newmarket). A wonderful outdoor club, I think there are 7 ranges there, from 25m pistol to 300m rifle.

In addition to Sharon, if you are interested in longer range rifles, look up "Ontario Rifle Association". They use several military ranges (Cedar Springs, Winona, and principally Borden), and conduct a long range shooting program from 300y to 1000y. They hold intro days, etc.

There is an ISSF 300y shoot at Borden in June. 60 rds, 10cm 10 ring. Would be a good test of the rifle.

Nice shooting. There are 2 loads mentioned here that I wanna try in mine.

That said, I haven't gone through all of my SMK loads yet, just the Hornady.
