I've shot 300m Swiss for the majority of last summer and am thinking of expanding into more of the Palma style matches in the future after I get a chance to build up my shooting gear collection.
As a result of this I am thinking of purchasing my first shooting jacket. I've tried to do as much research as possible but the internet is a little sparse with information. I've been looking at the Creedmoor Hardback Heavy Leather Shooting Coat. I have also noticed that canvas appears to be very popular as well. It is a little pricey but it is my understand that jackets can last 15+ years.
As a side note I am a extremely tall and lanky not well suited to common "cookie cutter" sizes
I was wondering if anyone had any good advice for a relatively new shooter, is leather a bad choice for someone just getting started?
Thanks
