First shotgun purchase. Trap and Skeet - O/U recommendations unto $1500

CZ over under shotguns are made by Huglu. Some CZ shotguns have had amazing durability - There is a long running test of a Canvasback shotgun over on Shotgunworld that will just blow you away.
Not all Huglu shotguns have done as well. They often need a trigger job out of the box, having excessive trigger pull weight. That may be changing with more recent guns. More recent buyers should chime in with their experience.
There are lots of people who are satisfied with their Huglu shotgun. Huglu shotguns surely are a harder resale than the B guns.
Prophet River stocks Huglu shotguns direct from Huglu, without the CZ branding. They have sold out their shipments regularly, with people on this site asking when certain models will be available again.

If I could choose a shotgun I'd pick a Beretta Silver Pigeon... I looked at many shotguns and I settled buying a Churchill Orcap 2 ($899+tax) with the fancy brass type receiver. Its a very nice shotgun that has shot great without fail.... If your shooting recreationally and hunting upland or duck with it then you are totally equipped for life. If your going to shoot Trap in competition or Skeet you may want something that switches barrels slightly smoother. Only other thing was break in took a little bit as the shotgun was tighter than your prom date to close the action for a while but that smoothed out after its first few uses. I have no regrets with the Churchill and for the price I haven't seen another product equal to it.
