Hi all,

Looking to get my first shotgun this week... Mainly for Turkey, ducks and grouse...

Right now its between the Winchester SXP waterfowl, Remington 870 and Benelli Supernova..

What are your thoughts on a first?

Either of them will get you a turkey and a few ducks. If you're going to want to swap a bunch of stuff out and customize it, the Remington has more aftermarket parts available.

On the practical end, get whichever you find a better sale on/fits you better/appeals to you more.

The Remington us the most versatile more options for barrels chokes stocks triggers can be set up to hunt ducks and change to hunt deer with in a few minutes

Many a first timer has gone with a 870, there very versatile without breaking the bank. As already said lots of barrel options from ducks to deer. Get the combo and never look back.

Don't overlook the Mossberg 500. It's had a steady following for years, with consistantly good QC. Under 500 bucks at cabelas.

Don't forget the Browning BPS with the Invector chokes. If having no interchangable chokes doesn't bother you, you could always go with an older gun but the down side is that steel is not recomended for many of thoses. I am a semi guy myself (don't discount those) but this year I will try one of my new o/u for duck season. There is a bunch of budget guns in that category also. I did just pick up a minty win 101 for 4 and change at my local shop recently.

Benelli(10 year warranty) or the Winchester in that order. As Garaldtao mentioned, in that price range the BPS should also be considered. Fit should be your determining factor, if a shotgun doesn't fit you, you won't hit anything consistently with it.

This is the best and only advise you need to follow .
