First shots with my XCR-M... Smooth operator...

This afternoon got 60 rounds of AE 150 gr, flawless operation, the last 20 rounds on gaz setting #3 and perfect operation, ejection was smooth at 4 feets just 10 degrees to the back, guess breaking in is almost done, this is a very good rifle... JP.

What was your total round count before you turned down the gas setting?

Well I have a new .308 Win Bullpup to break in when I get home late next week so I will be taking my XCR-M out too and putting a few more rounds through it to break it in. I am only at 60 right now. 3 PMAGS also showed up for my XCR-M while I have been away. So I look forward to trying those too.

All my shooting as been from the 3 original metal stock mags, got half a dozen of Pmags on their way 3+3... JP.

Well I guess I can jump in here again as I headed out to the hills on friday to test some more stuff. I had loaded up some different powder charges for the 110 V-max bullet. I wanted to duplicate Hornadys 110g TAP round. Pretty sure I came up nearly the identical round and the grouping was about 1" at 100 prone and resting off my back pack.

Sharing for those mentioning above about a gopher or coyote round..this should be a great round for that.

110g V-MAX bullet
2.750 OAL
H335 powder
2971 fps average of 5 round group

Just got back from WS with a new box 110g..gonna load a bunch :D

cheers

Update.

Got home from a business trip. Pulled my XCR completely apart and cleaned the large amounts of grease that was used during assembly out of every crevice in the rifle. Nice and smooth operation. In the action now.

Also my new custom muzzle brake arrived and was installed.

Also swapped out my original optics for a Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24x50 Illuminated Mil Dot Scope. The original Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16 is going on my RFB.

Multiple five round groups on the same piece of paper or target please.
Too easy to cherry pick a group otherwise.
I'm still trying to determine if the one I recieved was a dud or not...

I have an XCR-M and experienced some ejection/feed problems. It is back at the dealers now.
I will update when the problem is resolved.

A few more details on this one please and thanks. As stated in many other posts and for myself aswell the factory mag caused many feeding problems but in all my rounds I have yet to have a FTE or FTF. Zero problems with feeding after switching to Pmags and Metal body SR25 mags.

Just on a side note, how was the fit on your upper and lower? Not sure that would have anything to do with feed problems but maybe. On the first one I had there was a signicant amount of play between the 2, the 2nd one and the one I still own have a very snug, perfect fit.

Just tried my Pmag today and like the oem one, it is flawless, after a 185 rounds my gaz set up is on 2, i am shooting AE 150 FMBT, maybe you could try on setting #2, should give you the emptys at 4 feets, 10 degrees to the back, mine behave this way, hope all will be good for you... JP.
