That smell is sulfur. It will rust your gun barrel badly if you don't clean it out right away after shooting.

i've cleaned it at the range each time, right after shooting it. Do you know the best thing to clean it with? one shooting buddy of mine said windex, another one said brake cleaner, ive used both on the sks so far. I clean all my guns religiously after shooting.

Good to know about the sulpher smell, doesnt bother me but i dont think guys around me at the range liked it to much lol, oh well, for the low cost of the ammo, you cant complain about the smell.
