First Stainless 308 for hunting

I couldn't do the Kimber, it is light, but no detachable magazine and the action on the styer and sako is so much smoother

Curious what the recommended options are for something light weight, bolt action, and stainless. The scouts look pretty appealing.

What do you all enjoy?

Why wouldn't you go for a 4lb 13oz Kimber Subalpine? Light, bolt, stainless...hits what you're after.

Savage 16 Lightweight in .308, Stainless and 5.65 lbs.

I called a very large, well known gun store about one of those in stock and the rep talked me out of it. He was quite underwhelmed about them and said they were hugely overpriced. I wanted to ask about one in 7-08.

I've got 2 of these savage lightweight hunters in the safe, one in 270 the other in 308. I have rem 700's, win mod 70's, weatherby's and a couple other savages....the savage LWH's...both of them, are more accurate than anything else in the safe with my handloads. Way more accurate than an out of the box rifle in that price range has a right to be!
