Old hand at sport shooting and hunting. Started about 45 years ago. I am now into my 50's. My Dad who thank god is still with me is into his late 80's got me started. He took me out with his old 22 Cooey that he got when he was 16 or 18. Started pistol shooting at the old London / Lambeth Square Circle 35 plus years ago. Been a member of pretty well most clubs near London Ont. Home club is EESA. Into year 5 there. Was a member of the old Ontario Handgun Association before it became CSSA. My wife got me back into pistol shooting in 2003. I was playing golf and she noticed golf just didn't do it for me. After 33 years being together I guess she knew I missed shooting. Re politics. I am a card carrying member now of the Conservatives. When Martin asked for a Handgun ban , my wife burst into tears. I will never forgive the Liberals for that. She had given me the money for a new 45 for my birthday. She joined the Conservatives also. I collect winchesters as a side line. My biggest donator has been my wife at Christmas. A joke in the family now is - nothing says Christmas unless its a Winchester. It may not be very christian, but part of me hopes one of Santas Reindeers takes a huge dump on McGuinty and his crew. Enough for now.

Thanks for the Welcome

This CFO search has really hurt many of my family members. They are insulted. All are vets not many left re WW2. As one uncle said " I fought against tyranny from D PLUS 4, June 10 1944 to the end. Alot of good men died. For what ? This search is no different then what the Nazis did to the people of Europe. It's the same actions by a different group of people. Today they call them selves Liberals. Same wolf only a differnt sheep's clothing . "

Welcome aboard! :D
A Winchester sounds like a wonderful Christmas tradition!
Being an EESA member, I'm sure you know Stormbringer. He may even have been the one to point you in our direction! ;)

Welcome, Enjoy & have fun on this site. My father too was a World War II Vet & has passed on sometime ago. I would like to think he had not seen what has become of the things, he & others have served to protect.

Thanks for the welcome..Ahmen to your last comment. I had my uncle out 83 years grip like vice. Looks 60. Still can group with his enfield in a 4 inch circle at 100 yards standing. He says he learned fast..re how to shoot. He saw alot of action WW2, but only talks about the funny stuff. Took him to ESSA awhile back loved it so much he may join. One problem he goes through ammo like a squirel chewing through nuts. He just updated from a POL TO PAL-aced it . I hope when I hit his age will be still allowed to shoot.

Ontgunner thanks for the welcome. This year its Marlin as Winchester stopped production. And I never saw 45-70 in a Winchester lever. It's wrapped and in my safe. On the 27th even if theres a blizzard I'll be at EESA. I'll be the guy with the big smile, with an 1895CB eating a turkey sandwich and a cup of coffee.

Welcome Aboard Buck45. Always a treat to have new blood. Makes the voice a little louder. Seems you are blessed with a wife like mine. She goes to the gun shows with me too- collects knives. Life is good! Happy shooting.
