First time AR owner

Buy an AR15 book read it. Then do a search of Ar15.com read all the stickies. If you still have any specific question then ask them.

So what is everything a first time AR should know? :D

I downloaded the manual off the website but Im looking for the little things.

Every first time AR owner should know is that every question you can think of has already been asked and can be found in the stickie up top or the search function. :kickInTheNuts: :D

I don't know if anyone has told you this yet, but proper break in procedure for an AR is as follows:

1 - find box.
2 - write ante_1313's address on box.
3 - Place AR in box and mail to Ante_1313
4 - Transfer rifle to Ante_1313.

I found these procedures on the internet, so they must be true. :D

On a more serious note...what usp and hbean said. I'm a new AR owner as well and what they said has worked for me.

Cheers

I had a lot of questions two before I bought mine.

But I knew some things for sure, had to have a 16" govt profile barrel and a flat top receiver.

I ended up buying a complete TI lower from Questar and bought an upper assembly from a fellow CGNer.

Everything went together great and it shoots pretty well. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the shorty ARs, but to each their own.

1 OK learn the acronyms..
2 Learn how it functions..
3 Learn how to take it apart and put it back together...
4 Shoot the hell out of it...
5 Maintain as required
6 Repeats steps 4-6 until you don't enjoy it anymore..
