First time at range with Sig classic

Well, I was finally able to get out and shoot my new gun. I have the Sig Sauer P226R classic. I really like the way it shoots and with the after market followers and stainless steel guide rod I am very happy with it. Very comfortable in hand and love the decocker lever.

As for ammo I started with a 100 rounds of CCI mini mags and not one failure. I then tried a box of 50 of the Winchester wildcat and out of the 50 I think I had 5 FTE.

Then I tried a box of 50 of the Winchester super X and I had nothing but trouble with that ammo. Mostly FTE but the odd FTF.

I then shot a box of 50 CCI Blazer's and I had 1 FTE and that was it. I was pretty pleased with it.

And for the last brand I used American eagle by Federal and they were nothing but garbage. I did not even finish the box, they just went in the garbage.

So at this time I have almost 300 rounds in it and I had a box of 100 CCI mini mags left and shot them all without one issue.

I will try some other brands of ammo but so far I rather the CCI Blazer's or mini mags. I would like to be able to shoot the cheap stuff, but too much bother for the difference to be honest.

Now my other debate. I was thinking of buying a Beretta 92FS Inox but now that I have shot my classic I am almost thinking of just going with the 9mm conversion kit I like it so much!
 
I like the Beretta Inox a lot and even though it isn't my money, I'd buy the 9mm conversion for the Sig.

The Beretta looks sweet but isn't really anything special to shoot. That doesn't mean I don't want one though!
 
I had a lot of issues with pretty much all .22s but Mini mags on the Sig classic... And all of them FTE..

The worst were the Remington Yellow jackets.

On the other hand, my Browning 1911 .22 and Walther P22 have had no problems whatsoever with any of them... Go figure.

As for the Beretta 92fs, it is an excellent gun and just as smooth as the Sig, but yes, in your case, it would be best to get a Xchange kit. Cheaper and more convenient. Keep it all in one gun.
 
I shoot Winchester 555 bulk packs in my Sig Classic 22. They perform comparable to CCI mini mags. I've also tried Fed bulk 525 without issue. The Sig Classic was my first firearm purchase and my second was a Beretta 92A1. Love them both but truth be told I love the 92A1 more. I also have a 9mm x change kit for the Sig and would recommend getting one. In the end your going to have both anyways.:D

I wish they sold the 92A1 in the Inox cause I love the looks of the 92FS Inox but like the new features of the 92A1. Does the recoil buffer give the gun less kick or is that the same?

See my issue is that I am able to get one more gun as per the boss but after May when the baby is born my hobbies other than supplies (ammo) are going to be on hold for a while. I want both but if I can only have one for the next couple years..
