First time cerakote

Hey I was wondering what you guys are using for media to do sandblasting with. Can't seem to find the aluminum oxide 120 grit that is suggested. The only thing I have found is the stuff from tsc store and not sure what the grit size is on that. If anyone knows where to get the right stuff or an alternative that would be great.

I use 80# aluminium oxide from princess auto at lower pressure as I too had a hard time finding 120#. works well for me.

Yea was wondering about that too. I called cerakote and the she said they don't recommend anything under 100# but if i lower the psi and stand back a bit. Might be alright

I sourced 120 grit from a few places, but the price was rediculous. Went with 80 grit from Princess Auto at about 60 psi and you'd never know the difference.

Rental company's sell sand blasting supplies. Battlefields...Stevens...United...google might be your best friend.

I think I got mine from greggs distributors, but they had to order it in and it was expensive.

I use garnet for blasting my metal before cerakote. Not sure what size it is but I run it around 100 psi. I only use sand for cleaning up stainless steel and making it a matte finish.
