I used to work for an outfitter in 7-23, the biggest I've ever seen come out of there was 56 inches, and that one was huge. Most of the bulls coming out of there seem to be in the mid 40's.
Take your packboard and head away from the road... as far as you want to pack a moose. I'd head uphill. I've seen some really nice bulls pretty close to timberline along the North Anzak early in the season. They seem to get lower as the season progresses.
