Just started with reloading and did up some 110gr 30 cal for my 30:06 using the minimum load data of 51.5gr Benchmark. The max load is 55gr, question is, in what increments should I increase the load amount by. Do I go up a full half grain or something smaller?

Second question, should I be crimping these, looking to use for coyote and wolves if things work out?

Thanks

With reloading charge weights, it's your call as a result of the risk. However, I usually start at the minimum, go up, .5 of a grain to the midpoint, stop, shoot, and see how it feels. You will know how factory rounds feel compared to this. Also, be careful what COAL you go with.
With crimping, I don't crimp unless I am using a semi automatic.

I would go up in 1/2 grain increments....51.5..52..52.5 ETC. But you will run into a problem me thinks. I played with 100. and 110 grain slugs out of a 06. You might get them going fast, but they slow down just as fast and are really explosive at 06 velocities. I think you will have a problem with penetration. As in..really none. They sure blow up jack rabbits but I would be leery trying them on bigger varmint critters. Just my .02 worth from when I played with them..

I'll answer one question here. The one about increments... As a rule of thumb, I try to use approximately 1% of the starting load as an increase increment. I round them off in larger cartridges... With 51.5 gr, I'd use .5 increments as it's easy. In smaller cartridges that take 8-10 gr, .1 is the only way to go as it's the smallest increment on my scale...

I like to do 5 steps between min and max for initial testing (5 rounds of each). After that I'll do finer increments around what shot best from the first batch.
