first time reloading, broke my die

So if you were neck sizing only, with a traditional neck sizing die, you wouldn't use any lube at all other than the brush in the neck?
Negative. Dry brush.
As long as the inside is clean it comes out of the die just fine and is in the best condition for even and smooth seating of the bullet.

Not sure why anyone would shove a case into imperial sizing wax!!! You need so little of that stuff, that's such a waste.

And no, clean dry necks are fine. The neck is such a small part of the case it does not need lube. Bronze bore brush the inside of the neck, freshly clean outside (maybe some imperial residue on it, but nothing intentional).

When I lube cases, I just give the outside a quick twist with my three fingers on the body only. There no way the whole case body us lubed and it works fine

Granted, I polish my dies a little..... 000 steel wool followed by some 0000.... Just Mar up a wooden dowel and twist some on, run that into the die for a bit on a drill, and it nicely polished the inside of the die. I've found Redding rcbs and Lee to all be a little too rough for my liking (carbide dies are obviously smooth)
