So I'd like to go out for the spring hunt. I've never been hunting before and these damn ministry hunting sites are not the best. Anyways if anyone can guide me through the process.( I only have my PAL) I would really appreciate it! Also will I have enough time to get everything by then? Thanks everyone!

You will need to do the Ontario Wild Turkey Hunter Education Course Seminar , to get your license and then you will be able to go and hunt them birds.....

do it at the SportsMen Show, look for coupons in the Outdoor Magazine, or even online, you can save a few bucks, on the show, parking, and the seminar

good luck, it's a long and boring day, if you don't fall asleep, you will pass.....

The hardest part of Ontario hunting, for most hunters, is getting permission to hunt property where there are resident turkeys and no or few other hunters. Killing a bird is not always easy, I had three chances in my first year, killed one, and have been skunked the last two years.

Now is the time

You better get moving, there are dates at the ofah.org there are usally seminar dates in most towns in eastern ontario. Usally at the RA centre in Ottawa. But now is the time before you miss your course, they will tell you everything you need to know to get started took mine a few years ago. this is the first winterthat they are thick at my cottage hoping to bag one before they move into thier spring feeding ground.

I'm not sure if you need a small game license also, like you do for waterfowl. I always have mine so I don't know for sure if you need it, but I would imagine you do.

Yes you need the small game license and a turkey seal/tag. In past years you could buy 2 tags, but they can't be filled the same day.

You have to measure and weigh the bird and call it in within I believe 24 hours of the kill.

Alright cool thanks...Only question is so after I am done the turkey course will I need anything else besides game tags? (Additional hunting license)? Is the turkey license an add on to the hunting license?
