Hi all,
Thought I would report on my first turkey hunt.
Got up at 3:30 at the site by 4:15 and to my dismay, my GPS couldn't acquire a signal and my flags from the night before were either gone or too hard to find. Lesson learned there.
Anyways, wandered around for 30 mins or so and found a good spot. Can't remember what time I started calling, but there was certainly lots of responses.
All the Tom's seemed to be calling from 200-300 yards away, none however, came in for a closer look. Stayed for about 4 hours, probably napped for at least 30 mins, but I'm not complaining, the weather was beautiful and it was a good experience for my first time in the bush.
Next time I have a choice of three different spots and hopefully, luck will be on my side.
Cheers
