First time VZ-58 buyer

Hello,

I'm really interested in adding a nice VZ-58 to my collection (adding onto my three mosins and a SVT-40 ;)). I've looked onto the forum and couldn't find the answer to my first question- is there any concern about the continued legality of the non-restricted VZ-58? With the whole CZ858 scandle, is the VZ-58 going to be drawn into this? I don't want to invest into a nice rifle if its going to be suddenly caught up in a huge legal dispute!!!

If they could have prohibited the CSA guns they would have done so.

Their new-manufacture receivers avoid the Converted Auto issues of the banned CZs. They're as "safe" as any gun in Canada.
 
I luv my vz 58, have it in 7.62, I think its one of the best around, common ammo withmy sks also. Great combo. I luv that 958 at Wolverine that was talked about earlier. If that comes true, gonna by me one of those to.
 
I'd loved mine but I had to sell it to Mike in Canmore... who subsequently lost it in a tragic canoeing accident! I had went with 7.62 so that I could also use it as my back up hunting rifle when pushing bush. We can't use .223 for deer in Alberta from what I understand. Red Dot in the woods or on the range ftw :)
