- BACK IN Newfoundland and lovin it!!!
Now that the first week has passed i figured id give a little update, we hunted hard in the river here and on the islands, Opening day was a blunder in itself, got to the marina at 530 to put the boat off and the motor would not start for the life of the thing, so we frigged with it for 45 mins, decided we were losing too much time, drove the boat home, dropped it off and drove to our blind, got there as it was coming light, all pissed off, to find that someone had ripped our blind down, tossed the cam net int he woods and all the scrim we had cut was spread every where, so as I put out decoys my hunting partner tried to fix the blind up a bit. Then i lost my smokes in the water!!!, I was so frigging pissed, i wanted to go home then. We hunted the morning, did some jump shooting and came home with 8 birds. Not terrible considering.
Day two, got the boat running, headed out to the islands, we got 2 geese and 11 birds this day, was a great morning hunt, took weds off to rest, back at it Thurs, got another 9 birds, mixed bag. Friday at it again 6 birds, Sat went out , took an ol buddy that was in town for the holiday, go0d times, and company, birds are getting scarce now, very decoy wary already, Mon we spent on a small lake, marshland, got 3 blacks two mallards and a scaup. Over all not bad for the first week, this week im heading out for geese in the fields, ill post pics and report after the hunt, hope you enjoy the pics!
