Ofcourse it's nice to have it with you always, but do you pack it in with the gear when yer heading to the woods to fish and camp?

I always bring two, an SKS with 20 rounds, just for defence against larger wildlife, and a savage bolt action 22 for plinking only.

that little savage for 140$ has brought us soooo much fun trying to hit targets. Our favorite is a spent firecracker hull tied to a tree branch, when you hit it you know cause it bobs around. We use CB longs cause they're quite and generally safer than hi velocity, not that we don't treat the rifle any less safe just because the rounds aren't as hot.

most bc parks allow hunting but you can't bring them in out side of the hunting season. But if they don't see it they will not know. I tend to look at other places to camp then BC parks I'll go for Forestry Rec sites as they are usually more secluded from the YUPPIE campers

I'm with you, Crazy.Kayaker... I'd rather go camping somewhere secluded where I'm alone... not at a glorified trailer park where all my fellow "campers'" equipment glows in the dark, dances, sings, or all of the above.

m-60 here. when someone is inside the wire things get tense. :) specially in the national parks. course the neighbouring tenters get a bit concerned when I start putting field of fire stakes out around my tent. Just want to make sure the kids don't over lap too much.

I took one of my dads old shotguns once when i went rainbow fishing, figured might as well try for a couple rabbits if the fish weren't biting now since the fishing was good i decided to take the gun back to the car, and of course soon as i come out of the bush (on my uncles propety, so i have permission to hunt and fish his gate was locked so i parked on the shoulder next to the gate) an opp officer drives by lights flip on and he has to come investigate because a car with the same description of mine has been stolen in the area same old song and dance i hear every time i am up fishing. needless to say after almost an hour of dealing with the police officer i don't think i will be taking it out when im fishing again too many hassles for a 22 year old by himself trying to explain that.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Depends on whether I plan on plinking, where I go, who I'm with and whether or not I have the dog.

I'd say there is a gun in my truck about 330 days per year.

Virtually any park in BC you can have a firearm with you, if it is in a case in your vehicle.

I take my wife and kids into remote areas of crown land canoeing and camping. I pack a 30-30 carbine and strap on an antique sixgun in case we have a Cougar or bear attack on a portage and I can't get to my 30-30 rifle in time.

Pretty well every fishing trip, I take my Mossberg 500 Marine. Five slug, five buck and one flare in the side saddles.

I don't take anything on the water, but that might change when CanAm finally gets those Grizzlys in.

Should be room in my ditch bag for a shorty. If not, I'll MAKE room.
