Garbage?
They are definately cheap, anybody have one, opinions?
I would appreciate any info.

Somebody must sell a decent scope for a good price!
Any suggestions?

Not Bad For The Price

I've got 4 of them - 22, 22 Mag, 223 and 270, and they all work just fine. I've been plinking away with the Fitco for 4 years now and haven't adjusted the scope more than once per year at the range. They don't lose their accuracy with shooting.

A few other guys at the gun club own them and seem satisfied. Again for the price.

For the price, the optics are O.K. It's not a Leupold.

I am planning on mounting it on an M-305, you say that you have one on a 270 and it handles the recoil ok.
This is the type of info I am looking for.
I do not expect Leupold quality at these prices, but I am looking for functional.
Don't get me wrong I would love to buy a Leupold, but right now I would have to get a divorce first. ha ha

Fitco Info

The scope on my .270 work just fine. It has adj. parrallex. Once I set it up, it took a matter of 5 shots at 100 yds. to tune into the bulls eye. I fired over 75 rounds this past weekend and didn't have a problem.

I do have one for sale: 6-24 x 50mm, front adj. objective, weaver hi-mount rings and sunshade - brand new in the box $85 inc. shipping.

What model are you using on your 270?
I am definately considering giving them a try, they have a 3 year warranty.

Same

Same as the one I have for sale. I purchased a different scope from Fitco for my R22, which I then returned to TSE because it didn't work out. So I took it back to Fitco and traded for 2 of these units. I was on my way to the Kamloops gun show with plans to buy 2 rifles, only found one. So...instead of holding unto until I find the right gun, might as well sell it.

I have one on my M44, it's a scout 2x20. Still have no idea if it works well or not . I was able to shoot a decent group of 5 with it, but have no ammo for more test driving.

Fitco Scopes...

Bottom line is you get what you pay for. Fitco scopes are cheap for a reason... 'Cause they're crap. Personally seen more than one with broken reticles. Wouldn't have one on my rifles if they were free. If you have one & think it's fine good. But you are only one shot away from the reticles becoming detached inside the tube. Hopefully, it will only be on the range punching paper not in the field with that once in a season shot... ;)

HI, I sold about 6 of these couple of years ago I had picked up from them to have something cheap on the show tables and none have came back to me-thou they may have thought what the hell.\/

Broken Reticle

I guess like any product, problems arise. I fire 5000+ rounds a year thru my 22, over 1000 rounds thru my 22 Mag, and I just fired 300 rounds from my 223 a couple of weeks ago, and no problems. I agree you get what you pay for. Their not a Bushnell or Leupold, but they are a fraction of the price. I know a lot of guys that have one, and not one of them has a complaint or a broken reticle issue. Perhaps, if you didn't drop your guns or kick them around, the reticle might still be intact.

Been shooting rifle for going on 30 years... I have never dropped any rifle and certainly haven't kicked any around... The Fitco scopes I've seen with detached reticles were from shooting. In fact they looked pristine on the outside [indication of non-abuse] but the cross hairs inside the tube were no longer intact. On that basis I've never bought/owned a Fitco scope & never would as the examples I've seen haven't instilled any confidence in this product. Previous thread(s) on this site concerning these scopes have confirmed this.

Perhaps the more recent offerings from this company are of better quality. But I certainly agree... yes, they certainly are not Leupold.:p Or even comparable to the lowest end Bushnell.

I've had 4 different Fitcos on my .22's, SKS & now going on my AR180B when I get it. I sure wouldn't put one on my .338WM.

I think that maybe the older ones were not as good of quality, this doesn't only happen to cheap scopes.

I remember back in the early '80's, my buddy went through 4 Bushnell scopes one after the other on his .300WM just from shooting at the range.

I also bought a Tasco World Class in '84 for my .300WM, & now it's still going strong on my .338WM.
But in '85 we bought 5 of the same scopes & none lasted 1 season on .308's & .300 mags.

Hey

Thanks guys for all the input, its great when you can get a lot of opinions on a product before you buy it.
There is definately some differing opinions on the quality of these scopes and if they are worth buying.
However after a lot of consideration I have decided to go with one of the leupold clones, especially after the review given by A-Zone in the dealer announcements forum.
Great job A-Zone
