fitting remington 870 barrel onto Norinco HP-9

I picked up a 18.5 in rem 870 barrel for my Norinco HP-9 and the slide is jamming at the bottom of the stroke .
I am assuming the forend needs to be opened up ...anyone on here hear of this issue before ?

Or sell the HP9 and get an 870

Thanks for the shout-out. Another potential fix is to TIG up the slot and re-cut it in the mill. That's harder and takes longer to do. More risk of changing the steel strength at the locking recess as well, if the TIG operator is not very skilled.

So far, I might be the only one on CGN crazy enough to bother with a fix like this on a $300 shotgun. YMMV.

yes, an $80 chinese barrel would be cheap and expedient.

I would not flip the gun over a replacement barrel. Sell the extra barrel instead and buy the more compatible (and cheaper) CanadaAmmo barrel. It has a rifle front sight, but that can be removed inexpensively by any gunsmith if desired.

Sorry I should have been more clear it is the Rem barrel that will be going on the E.E .
And I will order a new one through CanadaAmmo
