Hi all

A couple of months ago I made a full wood set for my 1942 No 1 Mk III*

Turns out that the barrel and chamber are probably shot. So I was talking with my uncle the other day and he ended up giving me a No 1 Mk III* from 1918. So I decided to fit the 1918 action into my homemade wood set. Here are some pics.

First, The rear was loose, so I glued up some wood pieces big enough to allow some trimming

Next I measured the distance on the action (1 3/8 IIRC)

Then I marked the wood

Next I removed a bit of wood, and I tried the action. You can see the mark that it left

More pics when I continue on this small project...

I sanded a bit the barrel channel, and I removed wood from a couple of places

I re-applied some linseed oil on the stock, I think it will stay shiny like this

And I re-blued the metal, re-assembly tommorow
