A couple of months ago I made a full wood set for my 1942 No 1 Mk III*

Turns out that the barrel and chamber are probably shot. So I was talking with my uncle the other day and he ended up giving me a No 1 Mk III* from 1918. So I decided to fit the 1918 action into my homemade wood set. Here are some pics.
First, The rear was loose, so I glued up some wood pieces big enough to allow some trimming
Next I measured the distance on the action (1 3/8 IIRC)
Then I marked the wood
Next I removed a bit of wood, and I tried the action. You can see the mark that it left
