Five new units get turkey seasons in Ontario!

"Additionally, WMU 59 (Pembroke District) will get a fall turkey season. The fall season opens on Tuesday, Oct. 14 and runs until Sunday, Oct. 26. - See more at: http://www.oodmag.com/hunting/wild-turkey/new-wild-turkey-wmus-approved/#sthash.mNEs8oR4.dpuf"

As well as 59 in the Fall. I've seen a few flocks a little south of North Bay, say Powassan area. None north of there though.

Awesome! Any idea what the populations are like in those area's?

I wonder how far north the birds will establish themselves?

My experience is with 49 and 50, and the populations are spotty in those units. But where they are, they're there in FORCE. Big flocks. Luckily one of those flocks took up residence behind my grandparents house in 50, and we started seeing birds two years ago at our family hunt camp in 49. The population doubled last year at the camp, this year I hope its even higher.
