For the waterfowl opener but finally managed to acquire some time off work and put the hammer on some birds today with my buddies Chad(chisholm)and Paul. We set up primarily for Snows. Put out 38 dozen socks, rotator with 4 flyers, 4 extra flyers and 2 lucky ducks.
Managed to take 31 Snows, 13 Lesser Canadas and 6 mallards. Not a bad opener for me! Great day laying in a pea field with 30k north winds and 0 temps with my buddies!

wow, nice haul, you guys gonna make any goose jerky? If so, try my Barnell's Recipe listed in the thread of wild meat recipes, it's awesome on geese as well as venison! I know which one is you buddy, I'd recognize those big boots anywhere:)

We are in the middle of a snow storm here in Stoon! Good to see you made it out and hammered some birds. Been too busy chasing big game just got back from Moose hunting. How'd the new Beretta do for ya? ;)

Awesome job and great pictures!!! I am jealous.

Thanks and yes it was a cold day. Thank god the snow missed us or it would have been miserable. Had a 30k north wind. Amazing how well those layout blinds cut that wind on you. It was pretty snuggly in my Pro Guide XL wearing two pair of thermals and insulated outers. Had a balaclava and hood from hoodie pulled on to cut the wind on the back of my head. Heading out tomorrow to try to put fellow gunnut Doug on a few birds.
Bluedevil the Beretta stayed home. Took my go to waterfowl gun, my trusty old 101. Season # 27 for it and not a single failure to date.

yep, a US quart is about the same as a L. That 6L Ford of his will gladly accept oil from any size container:p

I got a few Imp quart cans of Texaco motor oil from my Dad's service station from back in the day!
