So I just bought a new Anschutz and I need glass for it. I was originally thinking on just getting a fixed 36 power scope like a T-36, Sightron big sky, or Leupy 35x or something of the likes. I know you should be able to get better glass in a fixed scope vs variable for the same money but how does say a Sightron big sky 36x compare to a Sightron S3 8-32-56 for clarity, contrast, brightness?
I have had 2 different S3's and was not uber impressed but I also expect a lot from all the hype. I really don't want to get a big sky 36x42 and find out it looks like crap. I also don't want to buy a S3 with the extra weight to find out a fixed 36 has better clarity/brightness.
This will be mainly a bench gun and run on max power all the time. I'm a mag whore and I don't care what anyone says. At 100 yards I always wanted more that my 8-32 would give me.
