That's a lot pf power dude. You sure about what you're after? My guess is that you're going to whack gophers with your 17. Am I close? If I am, you'll be out shooting when it's warm to hot weather and bright sun, because that's the weather they like. With that much magnification, you'll have a helluva time with mirage. If I'm not out in left field (or if I am out in the field shooting gophers) I'd say that you're better with an adjustable power scope... Weaver 6-24x on the cheap end ($95 at Conan's), Bushnell 4200 6-24x ($520) or 8-32x ($570), Burris 6-24x ($869), Leupold 8.5-25x LRT ($1240). Leupold used to offer a 36x BR scope (and a 45x IIRC but damned if I can find them on Conan's site) but for any field use I would suggest a variable to better compensate for weather conditions.
As always, YMMV. If your heart is set on a fixerd power scope I'd look on the EE for the Leupold. You might be able to find what you need. If you have to have new, call Rick or Troy at Alberta Tactical. I've gotten a few scopes through them. They get in touch with distributor and I usually have the scope within 10 days, and that's including the shipping to the great frozen.
