This little beauty was the gun that got me into guns ... :D

My Dad has had this since some time in the sixties, it has a three digit serial. I've read up on what I could about them, but having a bit of trouble figuring out how to fix the seal. It cocks and shoots, but not enough pressure to move the pellet or dart down the barrel. Are there kits available somewhere for these, or can I make one from sheet rubber or some such material? I think the original seal was leather ( or that's just what it turned into .. )

Any help would be appreciated.

Look at the Chambers Gunmakers UK site.

Webley Junior.

The seal may be able to be revived with a little work and some neatsfoot oil. Not much worry about dieseling at the power level these put out.

They show the springs in stock. No stock of the Piston-washer unit though (the seal).

If you are at all handy, and have some leather around, you can make a cup seal by building a form, and clamping the wet leather in a vise for a while to dry, then carefully cutting it with a razor blade. There is a fair bit of info online. DAGS for making a leather airgun seal, and variations of that.

http://www.gunspares.co.uk/showcatimage.asp?id=24530 shows a later version of yours, but they list parts for the earlier ones.

J+G airguns in the US ships to Canada and also may have parts........Harold ...failing that John Knibbs in Scotland carries many older and hard to get parts especially BSA as he worked for them for years
