Fixing peening on Yugo Mauser barrel clamp? [PICTURES]

Hi guys. I got this rifle on the EE and would like to fix a ding on the barrel clamp.

You'll note it on the bottom side of the clamp. Small ding there. I'm thinking lightly file the ding down and then polish and then cold blue the area? Is there an established way of dealing with dings like this?

As long as it is not impeding function, I wouldn't tamper with it.

I would file and cold blue, or even Sharpie if it's just the edge. (Call me Bubba, but sometimes a little Sharpie goes a long way)
My concern would be scratching the wood.
Someone really whacked that band trying to get it off. Maybe they didn't push the spring down enough. One of my Swedes is a real bugger to get off.
