any CGN working in eye glass shop????? i have 3 scopes
that a screw that holds the cross hair ring in has backed
out and that little screw floating around has busted the
cross hair. i made a round disc with a .077 hole from a
welding helmet plastic lens. i screwed that in place of the
cross hair ring and the .077 hole is a tad big but the edge
of the hole with the magnification make it a black gohst
ring. i need some one that has acess to optic quality
lens material and could about a .030 hole in a 1 inch
disc. i think think this would work better than a mil dot
as it would not cover the target.

Peep In Scope

So how do you adjust it up, say 35 MOA and add 10 MOA left wind?

the cross hairs in a scope are behind the lens closest
to your eye. unlock the focus nut unscrew the eye
piece and the cross hairs are right there and they don't
move. the small lens in the middle of the tube under the
the adj knobs move it opticly. hey , i'm learning as i'm
going here. don't ask to many teck questions.
this scope was a week old, whent hunting, shot
a walking 5 point bull elk at 150 yds, loaded another
round in case he got up and lo and behold the cross hairs
had dissapered. 2 of the 3 screws that hold the cross hair ring had backed out and were floating about. the recoil from my 375 h&h rattled the screws about and busted the hairs. you will probly see a lot more of that with all the
guns rideing on quads. i've had all the small lens come
undone in the middle of a scope while riding on my
honda 90 trail

What type of scope are you using? Cheap glass is not the way to go for a .375 H&H. I don't think the guys shooting .338 LM or .50 BMG's are replacing scopes every shot. I have a .300 WM with the same Lepould scope on it for 12 years. I have shot it plenty and it has seen endless miles riding on an ATV or in a boat. It has bounced around in the truck and been dropped a few times with me landing on it. I have not touched the adjustments on this scope since I sighted it in the first time.

Don't you think if you DROPPED your rifle you should at least sight it in to see if it's on.
Can anyone say guthot deer!

Oh it gets checked and rechecked. I took a tumble coming out of the bush. Went ass over apple cart, landing scope and rifle first and me on top of it.
Wiped the rifle off and went to the gravel pit on the way back to camp. One shot at 150 yards hit right on, second shot 1/2 inch right.
Can you say DEAD MOOSE:rolleyes:
