Right? The whole reason China is a manufacturing powerhouse is because we have made it clear we don't mind supporting a brutal regime that pays workers poverty wages and makes labour organization illegal as long as we can get a reclining patio chair at Canadian Tire for $60 instead of $300.

If you want to boycott China, get ready to pay a lot more for... everything.

A noble effort but it is literally impossible to not buy things made in China. Without knowing you I would bet most of the clothes you're wearing and the chair you're sitting on came from there. 96% of the non-food items in WalMart come from China. China has been the go-to place for offshore manufacturing since the 1950s. They can make stuff and ship it here by the kiloton for a fraction of what it costs to make here. Because they use cheap materials and don't cut into their margins with wasteful things like a living wage or environmental regulations or OHS for workers (many of whom are unpaid convicts). They've got us.

Damn, man consider this for a moment: China was responsible for not containing COVID-19, and unleashing it on the world. And are they paying for that? No way. We're paying them! They are charging us hundreds of millions of dollars for PPE and other equipment so we can deal with the virus *they* let loose! Insanity.

Best thing you can do is shop locally instead of box stores and Amazon. Then at least some of the money is staying in your community.

If anything I'm supporting my country and my community more than ever before. You should do the same instead of spending time whining and complaining and calling people racist. If it weren’t for Chinese firearms, many wouldn’t afford to get into the hobby. Same goes for Turkish firearms. So if you don’t like it, don’t buy it and quit your yapping.

Sorta like if you don’t like guns, don’t buy one and go on with your life

Yes they do lie about that. That video going around as "proof" wasn't even China and some prick covered up the sound with music so those of us who can speak Chinese can identify what language they're speaking. The video turned out to be Indonesia and people ate that #### up like it was ice cream. Let me tell you, there is indeed some sick ####s in China who do still eat cat and dog but they're always old people and its always in secret because if you were slaughtering cats and dogs in China, people would be bashing in your door with a rope in hand ready to hang you. Its illegal to eat shark fin in China but guess what, its not illegal in Canada.

Oh yes and this government here isn't disgusting too? There is good and bad in both systems. Why you just assume China is so bad without actually seeing China for yourself. Heck you can drink in public there in Canada you can't. You can even bring your own liquor in a restaurant. Want to go to the top of that skyscraper there to see a view of the city? No one is stopping you. China isn't perfect and neither is Canada.
