flare and crimp?

hey guys, another post from me, ive got a lee breachlock challenger kit. everything ive read about it says its a complete kit minus the dies. so i bought those and the case length gauge for trimming. i was watching some youtube videos on reloading and saw that they were using a flare die for the neck and then a crimp die as well. i dont see those in my box of goodies anywhere. do i need to get them or am i safe without them? the bullets im using are hornady a max 178 gr for a 30.06. theyre dove tailed so theyll fit into the case without getting hung up on anything.

also while im asking, theres a chamfer tool in there. would i chamfer it lighter after trimming to debur the inside of the edge of the case? and do i need to chamfer if no trimming was needed?
 
You only flare straight wall cases ie 45-70 or pistol cases. (as it explains in the manual that came in your kit )As for the chamfer I usually do both inside and outside once and again if I trim just makes for cleaner feeding and loading of the bullet.
 
Case mouth flaring is usually reserved for cast bullets to prevent shaving the bullet. A normal case mouth chamfer is all you need for a jacketed bullet. It isn't necessary to crimp but there are some exceptions like tubular magazines and if recoil is sufficient to walk a bullet forward and lock up a magazine or cylinder in a revolver. That said, some people do crimp bullets for whatever reason they may find to do that.

Some chamfer tools permit you to do both inner and outer case mouth edges and it is a standard procedure to at least do the inner chamfer.
