Hey guys,

Just got an x95, want to change the flash hider to something a little nicer.
Not really interested in comps. Any suggestions for something that doesn't ping and does a good job?
I was looking at a warcomp closed tine (yes I know it's a hybrid) but any suggestions would be appreciated, I know a lot of the three prongs are plagued with the ping and it annoys me haha!
Side note, are the flash hiders pinned still on the x95's? I remember hearing they had to be drilled or some nonsense.
Thank you!

If you are doing this for using NVG, the old school SE Vortex is the best for the money. Best flash suppression and the lightest , but of course it it not cool these days because you can't attach a sound suppressor that you cannot own. It does ping a little bit.

The worst ping sound is the old AAC - but I heard that dogs hate it so it does have a purpose as a dog disperser.

Otherwise anything with 3 or 4 prongs made by surefire or BE will do more or less the same. The surefire does have less of a ping sound. Personally that ping sound doesn't concern me, i don't have dog ears.

But when it comes to effective flash suppressor, open prongs is the way to go.

I personally like the YHM extended flash hiders. They aren't super common here but they are very effective and there's some consensus online that they are one of the most low signiture options, and inexpensive when you can find them vs surefire or other gucci options

There is an easy solution to the ping. Grind or machine down two of the tines to slightly different lengths. Three tines all a different length will not ping at all. A little cold blue makes the metal black again.

Shortening the tines doesn't affect flash reduction.
