I bought some Hornady V Max 22 ammo , shoots great in my 22 hornet, just tried to reload the empty Hornady brass and my de-capping got stuck, took things apart and found that the flash holes in the Hornady brass are a lot smaller than the winchester brass that I am also reloading. I assumed that flash hole size was the same in all ammo.

I had the same issue with Igmann 6.5x55 brass. I ended up giving it away to someone who wanted it worse than me. I believe he still curses my name...

Actaully, they make a smaller de-capping pin for Redding, RCBS etc just for Lapua nad othe small flash hole brass. The BR shooters believe that the smaller flash hole improves uniformity of ignition so most target brass is made with a smaller flash hole. Not a defect, just needs a different pin, costs about 2 bucks.

Be glad you have small flash holes and get the proper equip....you may need a dif. decap. stem, expander as well as pins, just like the BR series of cases.
