Flash Lights On Shotguns

I know this subject has been discussed to death but I would like to mount a light to my Maverick 88. I know some members have suggested duct tape or zip ties but I would rather make this look nice, and I don't want to use a light strapped to my head. What I want to do is purchase a "Lite Mount Technologies" Picatinny mount for the magazine tube and then get a high quality LED flashlight and adapt it to this. Since the mount is listed at $55.00 for a 25mm at Brownells and a decent long range flashlight I can get for $30 to $40. This way I don't have to spend $300 to $400 for a tactical light for a shotgun that costs less than $200.00.
The problem is I have no idea what a "Picatinny" mount is and if a plain ring mount was available for this magazine mount, then I could make an adaptor sleeve to fit a flashlight.

for my Maverick 88 I used a standard scope mount, put the ring on the mag tube, then drilled and tapped the flaslight body and fitted the weaver rail onto the flashlight and put it on the gun!
Works perfectly
 
Why don't you just use a standard barrel adapter for a flashlight? Like the ati ones? You can get the little 'grip turn on' that goes to your front grip too for most mag lites.

That is a very good idea. Does ATI sell direct? I'm pretty sure these items aren't available at the local retailers in Winnipeg.

Hey Calum! Do you have or do you know anyone who has put one of those ATI heat shields (with or without ghost ring sights) on their 88? Do they look any good and do they stay on properly?
