flash suppresor?

Ive got a 19" IBI barrel coming for an ar build im doing and was wondering if a flash suppresor is needed or could i just run a thread protector instead? Would there be any real downfall to not using one?

Personal preference. If you like fireballs. Run it naked. If you don’t. Put a device on the end. Arguably the fireball kills sight picture. But at a range I don’t see this as an issue. That said I’ve got flash decices on my ars. Because why not.
