I'm in the market for a new flash suppressors I like the KX3 Flash Suppressor but the cost is a bit up there, the other option is a Dlask XB1 5.56 Flash Suppressor are there any differences? would there be a better one to put on a 11.5" barrel?

also look at the Spike tatical Warthog and the PWS one, both are listed for use on short barrel gas systems. They can be both found on Questar's website.

No properly built AR requires a muzzle booster.

The Smith Vortex works well and is well priced for what is does.

Units are noticing the Vortex does not reduce the muzzle side signature (enemy combatants) but not really an issue for civilian shooters.

Talked to some SWAT guys at SHOT and they said their guns used to have vortex hiders but they removed them and went for brakes because they were bending the prongs on the vortex during dynamic entry and vehicle drills/operation.

The early M16 flash hider worked well too but like the vortex it gets caught on gear and the environment while not really standing up well to abuse. If by chance you drop your rifle on the muzzle or the muzzle hits something hard and a prong bends you render the gun useless. Or if the muzzle get caught on trees, gear, obstacles etc it fouls you up. In competition or real life that just sucks. If all you want is flash control sure but I can't see why anyone outside of the CF in Canada would find it useful aside from the LCF of course.

My vote is to put a brake on the end: KAC, Surefire, ATR or The RT version in a few months.

Edited to add: Kevin is right not only shouldn't a properly built rifle require a muzzle booster, adding one to your already properly built rifle can cause excessive pressure and increased wear.

Troy Medieval Flash Supressor?

I had the same thoughts setting up my SBR.

You might wanna look at the Levang linear compensator.

Same concept as the flaming pig, throwing the majority of sound and flash forward. Solid unit and retails around $50.

Love it on my Stag15 11.5" ...and so do people who shoot next to me :)

Have a SF QD brake on one of my 11.5s and a KAC Triple Tap on the other. Both work great, though the KAC kicks out less crap to the sides which makes it better for rollover shooting.

XB1 was standard equipment on my 7.5" Dlask AR.
Haven't tested it out yet but I like the looks and the design function.
On sale at Dlask for under $100...
